Electricity
For Germany the associated power plugs and sockets are of type F. Plug type F is the plug which has two round pins with two earth clips on the side. Germany operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

Insurance
The Conference Organising Committee or its agents will not be responsible for any medical expenses, loss or accidents incurred during the conference. Delegates are strongly advised to arrange their own personal insurance to cover medical and other expenses including accident or loss. Where a delegate has to cancel for medical reasons, the normal cancellation policy will apply. It is recommended that citizens from EU countries bring with them a current European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) card.

Language
The main official language is German.

Money
Germany is a member of the European Union, and its currency is the Euro (€). All major credit cards are widely accepted in Germany. The Euro has 100 cents in the euro with coins in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 & 50 cents and 1 and 2 euros. Euro notes come in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 euro.

Smoking
Under current legislation, smoking is restricted in all indoor work places and public places including restaurants, pubs and bars. On public transportations, including taxis and aeroplanes, and at public transport stations smoking is prohibited as well (except in designated smoking rooms).

Tax
Refunds Value Added Tax (VAT) is charged at 19% on most goods. But there is a reduced rate of 7% on goods and services, such as groceries, books & newspapers and tickets for concerts, museums and theatres.

Time
From March to October, Germany observes Central European Summer Time (CEST; UTC+02:00).

Weather
The hottest months of the year in Munich are July and August. The average daily temperature in June is a lovely 17°C, with highs reaching about 22°C on average, and lows dipping to 12°C at night. However, temperatures in June can reach up to 30°C and even more on some days as the highest temperature recorded in June 2021 was 32°C.
